Aim

According to the ranking of the Wissenschaftliche Kommission Wirtschaftsinformatik (WKWI), the International Conference on Wirtschaftsinformatik, besides ICIS and ECIS, is one of the most important conferences in the field of information systems and the flagship conference of the German-speaking information systems community. The 13th International Conference on Wirtschaftsinformatik (WI 2017) will be held in St. Gallen, Switzerland, and offers an exchange forum for innovative and established topics of information systems – for both research and practice.
The conference motto “Towards Thought Leadership in Digital Transformation” constitutes the substantial focus of WI 2017. “Thought Leadership” hence leads to innovative and substantial results that provide new insights into the modes of action of digital transformation and moreover present innovative solutions to the design of organizations and information systems (“from insight to impact”).

Topics

Researchers and practitioners are cordially invited to submit unpublished research papers to WI 2017. For each track, always two track chairs have determined an international program committee, which will review every submission following a double-blind review process. Accepted contributions will be published in the conference proceedings as well as the AIS eLibrary.
Apart from the twelve themed research tracks, a conference theme track will be offered as well, as has been done at past WI conferences. WI 2017 will further provide a Prototype & Experiment track, concerning which WI 2017 invites to submit innovative prototypes and their experimental evaluations. Accepted Prototype & Experiment contributions will then be presented in a dedicated session.
